DevOps / Backend Engineer

Full-time
Remote

Diamond Solutions is hiring a DevOps / Back-End Engineer. You'll work across our GKE infrastructure and the Node.js/NestJS services it runs, plus the GitHub Actions pipelines that get code to production.

About the role

About the job

Diamond Solutions is looking for a DevOps/Back-End hybrid engineer to support infrastructure management and back-end development, flexing between the two according to team priorities. You'll work across our GKE-based infrastructure, Node.js/NestJS services, and CI/CD pipelines — with room to shape how we adopt AI-driven tooling responsibly.

‍

What you'll do:

  • Support and improve our GCP/GKE environment, GitOps workflows, and GitHub Actions pipelines
  • Build and maintain back-end services (Node.js/NestJS) integrated with MySQL and MongoDB
  • Manage database health, migrations, and scaling for both MySQL and MongoDB (Atlas)
  • Partner with the team on third-party API integrations and Okta/OIDC auth flows
  • Help evaluate and safely operationalize AI/agentic tooling — balancing speed with security and human oversight
  • Maintain strong security hygiene across GitHub, secrets, and access controls

Required experience:

  • 3+ years in DevOps and back-end JavaScript
  • GCP, Kubernetes (GKE or equivalent)
  • GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
  • MySQL and MongoDB administration
  • Node.js

Desired experience:

  • Experience with AI/agentic infrastructure
  • ArgoCD, Helm
  • Terraform
  • NestJS
  • REST and gRPC APIs
  • Okta/OIDC
  • GitHub security practices (branch protection, secret scanning, etc.)

About the role:

  • Fully remote (EST overlap required)
  • Reports to our Director of Software Engineering
  • High-trust role — This person will touch production infrastructure, secrets, and sensitive data, so we need someone thorough, security-minded, and trustworthy.
  • We're bullish on AI. Ideal candidates are excited to use AI tools to move fast, but grounded enough to keep humans in the loop on anything security- or trust-sensitive.
  • $100k-150k DOE

About the team:

  • Diamond Solutions is a tech-forward company focused on easing the process for property owners to maintain their parking lots.
  • The tech team is a small, close-knit unit punching above our weight class.
  • No egos here – we’re a collaborative group focused on doing great work without the drama.
  • We work hard, and we build cool things that go straight into the hands of our users.

Requirements added by the job poster

  • 1+ years of work experience with Kubernetes
  • 3+ years of work experience with Node.js
  • 1+ years of work experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
