FedEx keeps freight terminals, ground distribution centers, and logistics facilities running around the clock. Pavement at those sites takes a constant beating from tractor-trailers, yard trucks, and heavy dock traffic. Across four states, FedEx needed a paving partner who could handle everything from routine crack sealing to full concrete slab replacement without slowing down the flow of freight.
Diamond Solutions delivered on that need across 9 FedEx facilities in Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and South Carolina, completing 13 separate projects. Combined, the documented work totaled more than 169,300 square feet of paving, sealcoating, and concrete work, plus over 106,700 linear feet of crack and joint sealing with additional sealcoating, new asphalt installation, and concrete work delivered across the program. No two sites were alike. Some needed a full mill and overlay after years of deferred maintenance. Others needed targeted concrete slab replacement in truck yards, sidewalk repairs, sealcoating, striping, and new asphalt.
Rather than apply one solution everywhere, Diamond matched the right scope to each facility, right-sizing the work to the actual condition of each lot instead of over-scoping it. From high-traffic freight terminals in Michigan to a full-service refresh in South Carolina, Diamond helped FedEx protect its pavement investment, address safety concerns, and keep its properties working.

Delivering Across 9 Active FedEx Facilities
PHASE 1: SITE-SPECIFIC ASSESSMENT
Every FedEx facility came with its own set of conditions — different pavement age, traffic loads, drainage, and failure patterns. At the Swartz Creek, Michigan distribution center, severe alligator cracking had been developing for years, with some cracks nearly an inch wide and areas becoming potential safety hazards. Diamond assessed each site individually and built a scope that fixed the real problem at each location rather than a one-size-fits-all package.
PHASE 2: RIGHT-SIZED, HONEST SCOPE
FedEx facility managers didn't want to grind down and replace everything — they wanted the areas of concern addressed correctly and cost-effectively. Diamond's approach focused work where it was needed: mill and overlay or new asphalt where the surface had failed, crack and joint sealing to extend pavement life where the base was still sound, and concrete removal and replacement in the truck yards and dock areas taking the heaviest loads.
PHASE 3: WORKING AROUND ACTIVE FREIGHT OPERATIONS
Freight terminals and distribution centers don't stop. Diamond phased and scheduled work around dock activity, trailer bays, and yard traffic to keep freight moving while crews were on-site — including multi-phase crack sealing at the Concord, North Carolina facility to keep sections of the lot open throughout.
PHASE 4: A CONSISTENT STANDARD ACROSS STATES
Across Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and South Carolina, Diamond delivered work to a consistent standard while adapting to each site. The result was a coordinated program that FedEx could rely on facility to facility, across multiple business units — from Freight to Ground.

Duncan, SC — Full-Scope Facility Refresh
The most comprehensive project in the program. Diamond completed 8" concrete removal and replacement (4,000 sq ft), new curbing, joint sealing, 13,000 linear feet of crack sealing, 130,636 square feet of sealcoating, and fresh striping — a complete pavement and concrete refresh at a single freight facility.
Swartz Creek, MI — 2" Mill & Overlay
A years-long deferred-maintenance problem finally solved. Diamond milled and overlaid 32,292 square feet of failing asphalt that had been cracking for years, eliminating safety hazards the facility had been trying to address for multiple seasons.
Hope Mills, NC — Full-Service Asphalt & Sealcoat
A complete exterior refresh combining sealcoating, striping, asphalt removal and replacement, and new asphalt installation — restoring both the surface and the appearance of the facility in a single coordinated effort.
Romulus, MI — Large-Scale Crack Sealing
At this freight terminal, Diamond sealed approximately 50,000 linear feet of cracks — extending the life of the existing pavement and protecting the base from water intrusion across a large, high-traffic lot.
One Coordinated Standard Across FedEx Facilities
Across 9 FedEx facilities in 4 states, Diamond Solutions completed 13 projects totaling more than 169,300 square feet of documented paving, sealcoating, and concrete work, plus over 106,700 linear feet of crack and joint sealing.
